Virtual Reality, Gamification for Inclusion and Language Learning Interaction

Objective : Creating a prototype of a virtual environnement for students

Expected results:

  1. An enhanced undertanding of the VR learning environnement's effect on foreign/second language students and their VR interaction behaviours, and thus VR interaction's potential to substitute for students' interaction on campus.
  2. Based on this, and on whether or not a VR lear environnement can contribute to students maintening motivation and sense of belonging.
  3. An insight into how oral training in language studies may be manifested in serious games and improve language interaction skills (speaking and listening).
  4. Through student engagement and challenge-based learning as a method in the IO, improved serious game creation skills among participating Game Development Programme students.
